PSAT opened its doors on June 1, 2006. However, PSAT is not fully accessible at this time due to limited resources. Access will be determined on case by case basis. Please call 416-760-4780 or 416-661-9975 to make a reservation to access the archive.
The Psychiatric Survivor Archives, Toronto has office space located in the basement of Sound Times Support Services, a psychiatric survivor community centre at 280 Parliament Street in east end, downtown Toronto. It is just south of the corner of Dundas and Parliament, near the Dundas streetcar line. The first floor of Sound Times is wheelchair accessible where visitors can look at documents from the archives. PSAT will be open for visitors to consult our collection later in 2006.
PSAT also has storage space in the basement at Gerstein Crisis Centre, 100 Charles Street East, Toronto. This storage space is not open to the public but is our off-site location to hold and sort material. When requested in advance, material stored at this location will be brought from our storage site at Gerstein Crisis Centre to Sound Times for research purposes.
PSAT expresses our thanks to the staff, members and clients of Sound Times Support Services and Gerstein Crisis Centre for their ongoing support for the archives. We also have support from Parkdale Activity Recreation Centre at 1499 Queen Street West.
